Welcome Note Welcome Note

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you as you join us at Islamic University of Ghana for the next stage of your studies.

This is a very exciting time in the development of IUG - Ghana's first Islamic University and the first of its kind in the West African Region, and you will now be part of a community of intellectuals who pursue knowledge with modesty and virtue. We serve as the local Islamic university for all the people of Ghana and we also continue to raise our African and Iinternational profile inviting students from all over the world to join us.

We plan to improve the learning environment across all our locations in campus by investing a lot in the coming years in teaching and learning and the provision of IT resources, general infracstructure and other facilities.

Some of you will have studied with us before, so it's nice to see you back. And for those of you who are new to the University, a warm welcome. I can assure you that IUG staff will be making every effort to ensure that your time with us is enjoyable and rewarding.

The University's Welcome Programme begins on Monday 31 August 2009 and there is a range of events and activities to help you settle in quickly and get the most from your studies.

Whether you are a new student starting your studies or you are a continuing student, we hope that your time at the University is both rewarding and enjoyable.

Have a happy, productive and successful time with us and I wish you all the very best for the coming year.
