The core activities of the Cultural and Religious Affairs are:

Cultural Activities

    • IUCG Scholarship Scheme
    • Seminars and Workshops on selected topics
    • Organize training programmes and short courses for (Imams, Zongo Chiefs, and the Youth etc.)
    • Serminar for Staff and Lecturers, and Junior workers

 

Religious Activities

    • Daily congregational prayers (salat)
    • Khutbah for Friday and short messages after the noon prayers (Zuhr)
    • Spiritual Counseling for students and faculty
    • Da’wah to inmates of prisons (ongoing), hospitals, Orphanages, Leprosariums (in future) etc.
    • Inform the IUCG community about religious activities and special events on the Islamic Calendar

 

Sub-Units under the Cultural and Religious Affairs Office

Each units under Cultural and Religious Affairs has specific activities designated to it. The units have experienced and dedicated personnel who are charged with the responsibilities of steering and managing ther affairs and activities.

 

DARUL QUR’AN UNIT

Activities of the Unit includes but not limited to:

    • Teaching Qur’an
    • Teaching Tajweed
    • Memorization of Qur’an
    • Start Your Day with the Qur’an (Staff and students collectively recite the Qur’an early morning in the IUCG Mosque before commencement of work/lectures)
    • Qur’an Recitation Competition (Campus Based and National)
    • Write and publish articles on some selected themes in the Qur’an
    • Summary and translation of Arabic Articles and books into English Language

 

CENTRE FOR ISLAMIC CONSULTANCY

Activities of the Unit includes but not limited to:

    • Counseling (General counseling and Marital counseling)
    • Jurisprudential enquiries
    • General enquiries about wide-range of religious and Islamic issues
    • Prison Da’wah
    • Short Courses for Imams, Chiefs, the Muslim Youth etc.
    • Seminars and Workshops to discuss issues of concern to the Islam and Muslims
    • Women Affairs

 

SCHOLARSHIP AND CHARITY CENTRE

Activities of the Unit includes but not limited to:

    • Educational sponsorship
    • Sponsorship for Religious Programmes
    • Donations to Prisons, Leprosarium, Orphanages etc

 

ISLAMIC LITERATURE CENTRE

The Centre engages in the production of the following:

    • Short video clips – Tafsir, Preaching, Qur’an Recitation
    • Audio clips – Tafsir, Preaching, Qur’an Recitation
    • Poem Recitals
    • Lecture Series by prominent Shia clerics
    • Anasheed
    • Design Brochures and fliers for the CRA
    • Books and booklets
