In recognition of their selfless service and dedication to the cause of students and development of IUCG, the Students' Representative Council of the IUCG (SRC-IUCG 2015/2016) has honored three members of the University College with special awards. This happened at the handing over ceremony of the 2015/16 SRC executives to the newly elected team.
The awardees were Dr. Mohsen Maarefi, IUCG President; Mr. Mohammad Rezaei, Vice President (F&A); and Dr. Alhaji Ibrahim I. Hussein, Dean of Students. Dr. Mohsen Maarefi is credited for, among other things, superintending over the addition of the Department of Education and setting up radio studio for practical training of students.
A portion of the citation given to the President reads: “You have within the few years that you have taken over the mantle of leadership of the Islamic University College, Ghana [IUCG] injected innovation and progress in every aspect of the IUCG.”
Mr. Mohammad Rezaei has won the hearts of students and their leadership for always being ready to listen to their concerns and to offer whatever assistance that is needed. “This is evidenced by the number of challenges –social, financial- that you have directly helped to resolve…” the citation contains. Dr. Alhaji Ibrahim I. Hussein on the other hand was honored for dedicated service to the IUCG. “You have served the IUCG with distinction and dedication since its inception, and you continue to do so,” the citation reads.
The awardees on their part expressed their elation for the kind gesture and promised to do more for the betterment of the University College.
